McKinstry Releases 2023 Social Impact Report

SEATTLE, WA — McKinstry today released its 2023 Social Impact Report, highlighting its work to create greater equity and inclusion, serve communities, and drive a zero-carbon future.

“2023 was a year of trailblazing in which we achieved many significant milestones in our growth as a socially responsible enterprise,” said Ashley Ruiz, McKinstry’s vice president of social impact. “We’re incredibly proud of the difference we’re making and recognize we have much more to do to advance community impact, decarbonization, and social justice in our company and nationwide.”

Achievements from 2023 included completingconstruction on a new 68,000 square foot, all-electric, state-of-the-art manufacturing center in Spokane, Washington; procuring the first four all-electric Silverado trucks released by GM in the Pacific Northwestas a step toward our future fully electrified commercial fleet; earning the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Equality 100 Award in recognition of LGBTQ+ inclusion; hosting our inaugural session of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience, providing underserved local youth with hands-on exposure to a career in the construction trades through a six-week immersive program; contributing 3,726 hours of community service through 116 projects with 75 nonprofits across 16 states, as well as setting a record for Week of Service participation; and breaking our record for charitable giving with donations of $1.5M.
